Bedford 1 Kings Langley 3
KINGS picked up a good three points away from home as they saw off Bedford.
Despite a heavy overnight frost making the surface unpredictable, both sides played some entertaining flowing football.
Kings’ Steve Noonan headed over and Craig Lynskey and Jimmy Armstrong brought saves out of Wayne Simpson, while a Bedford header flew wide at the other end.
Kings continued to look threatening, and finally broke the deadlock after 31 minutes.
A fine header by Steve Noonan from a Sam Warrell corner put the visitors 1-0 ahead and further goals should have come before the break, but the Kings front pair wasted three good opportunities.
Bedford looked a different proposition in the second half, making a couple of early substitutions, and Kings keeper Ant Ladyman was forced into an instinctive point blank save to maintain the lead.
The save seemed to inspire Kings, and it was not long before they doubled their advantage as a surging run saw Nathan Pooley’s cross headed home by Warrell.
Scott Joseph dragged the home side back into it with header from a Jason Layne corner, but Kings were in no mood to surrender any points and wrapped up the win in stoppage time as Jimmy Armstrong latched onto a Pooley through ball to finish from an acute angle.
