West Herts League

HEMEL Hempstead Rovers progressed to the County Cup quarter-finals after a convincing 6-1 win over Northolt FC.

A hat-trick by Paul Hanafan and a brace from Jordan Aikman did the majority of the damage, but a spectacular long range effort from Tom Porter was the pick of the goals.

Kings Sports also made it through after a 5-1 win over Christchurch Ware.

Jason Nicolaou grabbed a couple of goals, with Henry Dakkat, Michael Okoro and Moya also on the scorers list.

In the Premier Division, Tring Athletic A were held to a goalless draw with Martin Baker Rovers.

Division One’s Bovingdon crashed to a 9-1 home defeat to Maple Cross, with Darren Keen getting the Bovvie goal.

In Division Three, Potten End moved up into second place after a 3-0 success over Hemel Sharpshooters. Mike Pettingell, Dave Boswell and Dale Jenkins found the target.

Hemel Rovers A, meanwhile, crashed again – this time suffering a 6-1 home defeat to Langleybury.

In the West Herts Senior Cup, SWR Doors breezed into the next round with a 4-0 win over Oxhey FC. Joel Williams, Joe Copson, Glen Armson and Aaron Lewis got the goals.

Elsewhere, Hemel Rovers Reserves were knocked out of the West Herts Junior Cup after a 3-2 loss at Pitstone and Ivinghoe.

Mylie Cash and Chris Armstrong were Rovers marksmen.

Gadebridge FC also went out after a 1-0 defeat at Glebe Sports.
