THE daughter of a former owner of the Berkhamsted & Tring Gazette has died, aged 77.
Elizabeth Anne Kingham died on Sunday, December 4. She is the daughter of Douglas Needham, a former owner of the Gazette.
She died just over a year after her husband Tom died, aged 72.
Tom was taken to his resting place in a hearse at the head of a procession of tractors. The popular Berkhamsted man had been a collector of tractors.
Elizabeth’s funeral will be at St John the Evangelist Church in Bourne End at 12.30pm on Thursday this week. Her family say only relatives should leave flowers.
Elizabeth will be buried in the graveyard, where Tom is also buried.
She leaves a daughter and son – Sarah Kingham-Hoar, now 41, and Guy, now 43, and a granddaughter Katherine, 11.
Elizabeth was a teacher at Rothesay School – before it became Egerton Rothesay and moved to Durrants Lane – until she retired.
Sarah said: “She was a kind, caring person who loved horses.”
