Television crews filming BBC’s popular daytime show Bargain Hunt attracted even more people to Tring Market Auctions on Saturday.

The team was there filming four episodes where 16 locals competed against each other in eight teams of two, trying to raise the most profit from the buying and selling of antiques and collectables.

The contestants were accompanied by trade gurus who gave their expert opinion and the teams had to decide whether to take the advice or follow their own instincts.

The auction rooms on Brook Street were open to members of the public and there were more than 2,000 items on sale.

The show was filmed and auctioneer Stephen Hearn, pictured above right with Tim, was interviewed for the programme.

He said: “It was extremely full this week and everyone had a good time. This was the fifth time one of these shows has been filmed here, production companies appear to like it. Tim Wonnacott’s words to me were, it’s a jolly good set-up.’

“I think our popularity is because the auctions are so entertaining.”
