Berkhamsted 3
 Colney Heath 2

Berkhamsted twice came from behind to take all three points in a highly entertaining clash with Colney Heath at Broadwater.

Colney took the lead early on, before Frankie Jowle struck to send the sides in level at half-time.

Jamie Eames put the visitors back in front, but a spectacular Josh Chamberlain goal restored parity before Dale Sears powered home a header to earn the points for Berko.

Despite seeing his side record the win, Berko boss Mick Vipond admitted that it was a nerve-shredding game to watch from the sidelines. He said: “It was a very entertaining game, but not if you are a manager!

“It was real end-to-end stuff. Everyone afterwards said it was really good value for money.

“There were some really cracking goals. If Josh Chamberlain’s overhead kick had been scored by Wayne Rooney, they would have been playing it over and over again!”

Vipond was able to welcome Lewis Rodrigoe and Chamberlain back to his starting line-up on Saturday, but it was Colney who took the lead courtesy of Aaron Clarke’s strike.

The Comrades were back on level terms midway through the first half, however, as Jowle chipped Heath keeper Tom Blackman.

Both teams continued to create chances as the game ebbed and flowed, with Chamberlain and Bekim Culaj coming closest for Berko.

It was the visitors who regained the lead, however, with Eames punishing Berko for backing off.

To their credit, it did not take long for the hosts to hit back, with Chamberlain producing a moment of magic.

With his back to goal, Chamberlain connected acrobatically with a cross to send the ball past Blackman and into the net.

Having got level, Berko began to take control of the game and pressed hard for the winner, which duly arrived courtesy of Sears’ 80th-minute header.
