Ampthill Town 3 Tring Athletic 0
Ampthill Town put in an impressive second half display as they swept to a deserved victory over Tring Athletic.
In a largely uneventful first 30 minutes, Tring felt they should have been awarded a penalty for a push on Stewart King, but their appeals were waved away by the referee.
It was hosts Ampthill who eventually forced the breakthrough as a deep cross found Tyrone Taylor who fired home off the post.
The second half started in a similar pattern to the first, before Jack Sunderland fired a half-chance over the bar for Tring.
From then on it was nearly all Ampthill pressure, and the home side deservedly doubled their advantage after 55 minutes.
A blocked shot by Michael McKenzie deflected to Stephane Kemengea, and he steered a excellent effort into the corner of the net from outside the area.
The influential McKenzie came close to adding a third for Ampthill with an effort that hit the post, but it was Taylor who made sure of the win for the hosts as he netted his second goal of the afternoon.
The result leaves Tring in 13th position in the Molten Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division.
