Police have appealed for help as they launch a murder probe after the death of a 21-year-old man.
The victim, who has been named on internet sites but has not yet been formally identified, was stabbed in Market Square, Hemel Hempstead in the early hours of Sunday morning. It is believed that he lived in the town.
Police say the victim died as a result of a stab wound at about 1.30am.
The scene has been cordoned off for forensic examination.
Two 17-year-old boys from Hemel Hempstead have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are being questioned by investigators.
Det Supt Mick Hanlon of the Beds and Herts Major Crime Unit, said: “Investigations are under way but at this stage it is unclear as to exactly what happened.
“The area would have been busy at the time and I would ask anyone who has not already spoken to police to call us with information.
“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this time.”
