A PARTY plan for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee has been set out by town leaders.
Berkhamsted High Street will be closed between Kings Road and Castle Street for the event on Monday, June 4.
It will play host to face-painting, a balloon-maker, a red London ‘party’ bus for children, various stalls and an entertainment stage.
The town’s Espinosa Chute Dance Centre will aim to dazzle with a Lindy Hop display followed by a short ballet called Diamonds are Forever.
Berkhamsted School will open its Castle Street campus for afternoon tea and Ashlyns School, in Chesham Road, will light a beacon for the Queen that evening.
There could also be fireworks and a screen showing the Buckingham Palace concert at the site.
The plans were announced at a meeting of Berkhamsted Town Council on Monday.
