DRIVERS have been reminded of the dangers of deer crossing roads in Ashridge Forest.

Between 25 and 35 deer are hit by cars in the forest every year.

Despite this being down significantly from around 125 in 2004, drivers are still being warned to be careful.

Ashridge Estate manager Graeme Cannon said: “At all times of the year drivers need to be vigilant. Sadly collisions aren’t uncommon and it is best to reduce speed.”
