A FAMILY is calling out for blood donors who could help save the life of a mum-of-two.

Gilly Jenkins, of Hunters Park, Berkhamsted, has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a form of blood cancer, and doctors have told her that a stem cell transplant is her only hope of survival.

But before she can have one, she will need to find a blood match and her family have enlisted the help of blood cancer charity Anthony Nolan.

The charity has set up a event for potential stem cell donors at the Kings Arms in Berkhamsted High Street between 4.30pm and 8.30pm on Monday.

All volunteers will have to do is fill in a form and give a sample of their saliva to join the register.

You will be called on if you are identified as a blood match for Gilly.

To be register, you must be aged 18 to 40, weigh at least eight stone and be in general good health.

Young men are more likely to be asked to donate, as they tend to be bigger and healthier than others.

For more information or to join the register without going to the event, visit www.anthonynolan.org.
