Kings Langley 6-4 Sun Postal Sports

Kings came out on top in a 10-goal thriller with Sun Postal Sports.

In a calamitous defensive display from both sides at Gaywood Park, Kings sealed the win with goals from Jimmy Armstrong (3), Nathan Pooley, Sam Warrell and Luke Ladyman

Sun’s Dale Fisher accepted early Christmas presents from the Kings defence twice in the first seven minutes, before the visitors joined in the spirit of things to allow Pooley and Warrell to draw the scores level.

Armstrong then took a Gary Wallace pass in his stride before rounding the keeper and finishing cooly, and the Kings forward headed home from a Sam Warrell delivery to make it 4-2 after 27 minutes.

When Ladyman came up to head in a Warrell corner, things seemed comfortable for Kings, but the home defence were caught napping again as Fisher completed a first half hat-trick.

After the interval, a flowing move involving Jack Johnson, Pooley and Armstrong saw the latter complete his own hat-trick, as he slid the ball through the Postal keeper’s legs.

Kings missed a number of chances to add a seventh goal, before the scoring was completed by Sports’ Jamie Tyas as his free-kick evaded everyone before nestling in the net.

It is fair to say the match was one which both defences will be keen to forget.
