LOOK who is getting loved up for Valentine’s Day – but Mayor of Dacorum Roger Taylor and volunteering champion Heather Allen haven’t fallen for each other.
Instead they want the world to know they are head over heels for the borough they live in.
Now Heather from the Volunteer Centre in Hemel Hempstead and Councillor Taylor want others to tell them what they love about Dacorum.
Those that share a passion for the place they live or work in can submit stories, poems, pictures, photographs or even one word entries.
Heather said: “We often hear gripes or moans, it’s human nature and we all do it. That’s why we want to encourage people to tell us the good stories. This will give us an insight into what is important to local people.
“If people have a favourite place, or have seen or received an act of kindness in Dacorum, we want to know about it. They may have a great picture or photo that shows why they love the area, or written a poem or song about Dacorum that they want to share with us.”
Postcards to fill in are available at the Volunteer Centre in Marlowes, council civic centres in Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead and High Street in Berkhamsted and Victoria Hall in Tring. Entries can also be submitted at www.iheartdacorum.co.uk
The best stories and pictures will be featured at www.dacorum.gov.uk and www.volunteerdacorum.org. All entries will be submitted into a £50 prize draw.
