MOTORISTS were trapped in rush hour misery this morning (Tuesday) following three collisions on major roads.
On the M1 southbound between J6 and J5 there were two accidents. The first happened at around 6.55am and involved four vehicles, while another nine vehicles were involved in a smash just before 7.30am.
Part of the carriageway was closed so that the vehicles could be recovered.
Police say no one is believed to have been seriously injured.
On the A41 a broken down lorry that had spilt diesel across the southbound carriageway between Hemel Hempstead and the M25 junction just after 5am meant the road had to be closed for a clean up operation. The road was re-opened just after 9.10am.
