THE chef and patron of an award-winning high street restaurant will appear in ITV’s flagship food programme this week when viewers will see him compete for the best dessert.
Grant Young of Restaurant 65 in Hemel Hempstead will go head to head with Michael Bremner of Due South in Brighton in this Thursday’s episode of Best Dish: The Chefs.
The two chefs will be trying to out-do each other with vegetable-based puddings in the Britain’s Best Dish food challenge that for the first time sees professional chefs feature in the show.
Grant, who has run his popular eaterie for six years, hopes judges Ed Baines, John Burton Race and Jilly Goolden will be impressed by his flavour combination.
His dish mixes the earthy sweetness of beetroot in a chocolate brownie accompanied by a mixture of summer berries and a cardamom panna cotta.
The question is, will Michael’s pairing of English pears with parsnip and vanilla pip him to the post?
Find out at 5pm on Thursday.
