Royal Mail has revealed it plans to introduce one extra car parking space for visitors at its busy collection office.
The super centre in Maxted Road, Hemel Hempstead, currently has five parking spaces for customers but work to reduce the pavement size to provide an extra space is due to be completed in February.
That is what Noreen Perry from Royal Mail told Herts county councillor Ron Tindall when he complained about the lack of parking. She also pointed out that the old Royal Mail site had just two parking spaces and revealed that the management team has submitted a planning application to create a one-way system around its new car park to help deal with ‘sharp turns and traffic flow’.
Mr Tindall has responded asking for visitor spaces to be restricted to 30 minutes of parking to deter staff from using them and for yellow line restrictions to be enforced.
