You’ll know the faces, you may well know the names – but you won’t be expecting to see them banding together in a musical setting.
But that’s exactly what is on offer when the Idiot Bastard Band rolls into St Albans on Friday night.
It started as a hobby for four musically-minded mirth-makers but has now turned into a touring show.
Neil Innes, who recently showed off his amazing musical talents at Tring’s Court Theatre and is famed as a former member of the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band as well as the creator of The Rutles songbook, needs no introduction.
And Roland Rivron, who hosted this summer’s Berkofest, is well known for his efforts as a demented drummer.
But Ade Edmondson and Phill Jupitus have been keeping their musical skills under wraps until now.
Together they play songs by the Bonzos, Ian Dury, Mel Brooks and even George Formby – anything they enjoy and which will get feet tapping.
Their Alban Arena show is a one night only affair. Tickets are £22.50 from the box office on 01727 844488 or online at www.alban-arena.co.uk
