Snail extract and snake venom products are flying off the shelves at one beauty business.
The anti-ageing creams and gels that contain the unusual ingredients are the biggest sellers of Tring-based distributor Mia Beauty and account for more than 10 per cent of the beauty company’s sales.
Mark Richardson, who runs the business with his wife Terri, said: “It started as a quirky product and most of our sales were abroad. Slowly but surely the sales grew.
The Babaria range they sell includes hand creams and nourishing face creams that have snail slime extract that is believed to help banish wrinkles.
The snake venom products have an effect similar to botox to prevent wrinkles and have been popularised by celebrities including Victoria Beckham.
