It was a triple celebration in the Luckett household on A-level results day this year.
Triplets Daniel, Katie and Thomas – who all went to Adeyfield School – were pleased as punch with their grades, which also came out on the day they turned 18.
The event had added significance because the trio, who were naturally conceived, featured in our sister paper the Gazette 18 years ago when they were born.
Mum Sharon says they were born prematurely – they thought they might lose Daniel – so to see them grow up and do well is ‘wonderful’.
She said: “It’s just fantastic – they have all done so well.
“They were a few weeks premature, tiny little things. We were very worried – we nearly lost Daniel.
“They were all so early and they have just outdone themselves all through their school lives and in everything they have done. We couldn’t be more proud.”
Daniel, who was head boy, got an A in maths and further maths and a C in chemistry and will be going to study maths at Birmingham University.
Thomas got an A star in media, a merit in business and an E in science and will be studying film and TV production at the University of Hertfordshire.
Katie got an A in citizenship, a merit in drama and a C in English and has decided to study for a diploma in events management.
Daniel and Katie are also ballroom dancing partners and recently completed their Latin star medal with honours, while Thomas did the lighting for school shows.
The family live in Little Road, Adeyfield, and dad Barry works in engineering management at Goodrich Electrical Power Systems in Pitstone.
As youngsters the triplets went to Hobletts Manor Junior School.
Sharon said: “We just try to back them when we can and wish them well on their way.
“I just hope they achieve all they want to achieve in life.
“We’re very proud of them. It’s hard to put it into words – three little, tiny things, which we have worried about since before they were born. Now they’re sound, bright, good-looking kids.”
