Three out of every four results received by Berkhamsted School Kings Campus students was an A* or A grade.
Elen Price got three As and eight A* grades and Vicky Smith got A* grades and two Bs.
Vicky said: “It has not really sunk in yet, but I feel relieved.” She’s going to study biology, chemistry, maths and Spanish next year.
Elen said: “I feel very happy. The stress of the long car journey to school from Gerrards Cross was all worth it.”
She will study geography, chemistry, biology and either physics or economics at A-level next year.
Headteacher Ashley Clancy said: “I am really proud of what the girls have achieved. It reflects their hard work and the support of their teachers and parents.
“They are phenomenal, fantastic girls, they really are.”
Berkhamsted School for boys, based in the town’s Castle Street, also turned out a string of A* and A grade students.
Matt Hopkins got nine A* grades and three As. He said: “I did a lot better than I thought I would, and I feel really happy.
“A lot of them I did really badly on in the mocks, so this was a nice surprise – but I did do a lot of work for that.”
He is now going to study maths and economics at A-level – but is still thinking about what his other two A-levels will be on.

Andrew said: “I am really happy with my results, as I did not think I was going to do that well. I was really nervous.”
He said he had been up until late at night trying to get his results online – until he realised his account for logging in was broken.
Chris Nicholls, head of the boys school, said: “It is a great day to come to work and see all the happy, smiling faces.”
