LAUGH in the face of those Monday blues by joining compere Bennett Arron next week in Hemel’s Old Town Hall Gallery bar for another Screaming Blue Murder comedy night.
Brace yourself for an onslaught of funniness with the half Canadian and half Trinidadian Tony Law and ex convent girl Jen Brister.
Tony’s laid back approach, which he combines with scorching jokes and incisive remarks, have endeared him to both live and TV audiences in the UK and abroad.
He’s performed in New York, Aspen, South Africa, Ireland, the Netherlands and in his native Canada, and is a regular face at The Comedy Store and Jongleurs.
Along with Dan Antopolski and Craig Campbell, Tony created The Dinks, the acclaimed comedy troupe that excited both Fringe audiences and critics with its unique style of slapstick and banter.
Schooled by nuns at Ursuline Convent, Jen Brister took a comedy course at university and performed her first gig at the end of her third year in 1996.
A few years later, while travelling in Australia, she tried her hand at some open mic nights before being offered an open slot at the Mardi Gras Festival in Sydney.
Buoyed by her success she returned to England and entered the BBC Comedy Awards in 2000.
She was pipped at the post in the semis but picked up the late Spike Milligan as a celebrity fan along the way.
Screaming Blue Murder presents Tony Law and Jen Brister at the Old Town Hall Theatre in Hemel Hempstead on Monday, October 17 at 9pm – the doors open at 8pm.
