This weekend visitors will have chance to experience life as it was in Tudor times – working, resting and playing!

The museum has invited Tudor re-enactment group Hungerford Household, to demonstrate a country gentleman’s household from the 16th century.

Visitor services officer Sian Hammerton-Fraser is thrilled with the plans for this Tudor-themed weekend.

She said: “Hungerford Household will brings living history to the museum as members of the household, from servants to gentry, show what life was like during Henry VIII’s reign..

“Costumed re-enactors will demonstrate their skills as they go about the business of preparing food, crafts and entertainments popular in the period.

“Visitors will have the opportunity to talk with the characters and participate in a variety of Tudor pastimes, including children’s games and the opportunity to take part in Tudor Archery. It is going to be a fun packed and fascinating weekend!’
