Hemel Town Ladies 2 Maidstone Town 1

Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies produced a gritty second half fightback to bag all three points against Maidstone Town

A lively start to the game from Hemel saw Nash Mohammed hit the bar after five minutes, before Mickey Taylor was unable to convert as she was put through on goal.

The way the match was going, it looked as though Hemel were going to rack up a cricket score, but they were in for a shock when a Maidstone striker rose highest at a corner to nod her side in front.

The Tudors continued to pepper the Maidstone goal as they searched for an equaliser, but they could not find the net and went in trailing 1-0 at the interval.

Hemel boss Steve Wooding made a change at half-time, bringing on Bianca Hedgecock, and within 10 minutes she had justified his call.

The striker held off two defenders before hitting a lovely strike into the bottom corner to restore parity.

Hemel were beginning to play some fine football, and were rewarded for their endeavours as a cracking 25-yard strike from Charlene Turturici put them in front after 65 minutes.

The hosts should have increased their lead as they created numerous chances, but the score stayed at 2-1 and that was enough for Hemel to take the points.
