OLD people and their carers had an Olympics of their own during a care home’s sports day.
They took part in six games including blindfolded penalty shoot-out and the whacky wheelchair race during the event at Ashlyns Care Home in Chesham Road, Berkhamsted.
Manager Diane Delicate said: “Our staff and residents had a fantastic time and everyone felt very patriotic at the end.”
Winning team The Zimmers beat two other teams to win the contest.
They stood on a podium and were given a trophy while singing the national anthem as the Union Jack was raised.
Sabina Bell, who lives at the home, said: “Congratulations to the staff, who were such good sports. The organisation and attention to detail was nothing short of inspiring.”
