Aylesbury FC 1 Hemel Town 4
HEMEL Town made it two pre-season wins on the spin as they comprehensively beat local neighbours Aylesbury FC at the Infinity Investments Stadium.
Tudors boss Dean Brennan will be happy with what he saw from his new-look side, with second half goals from Danny Hutchins, Dave Pearce, Matthew Judge and Charlie Mpi securing an impressive victory.
After last season’s frustrations in front of goal, the Tudor faithful will be encouraged by a pefrormance which included some clinical finishing from the revitalised Hemel side.
Both teams had chances in the first half, but it was Town who took the game by the scruff of the neck after the interval.
With 53 minutes on the clock, Aylesbury keeper Rhys Marshall was penalised for a foul in the area, and Hutchins had no trouble in dispatching the resulting penalty.
Clearly buoyed by the goal, Hemel doubled their advantage seven minutes later as Pearce capitalised on a mix-up between Marshall and the Aylesbury defence.
Marshall was forced into action again soon afterwards to keep out a free-kick, but he was helpless to prevent Judge from making it 3-0, before Mpi added a fourth soon afterwards.
Former Tudor Ryan Blake bagged a consolation for Aylesbury late on, but it could not take the gloss off a good Hemel win.
At the time the Herald Express went to press, Hemel were preparing to take on AFC Dunstable in another friendly.
