Tring Athletic Ladies continued their impressive recent form with a hard-earned 2-1 win at home to Bushey Rangers.
After going a goal down in the second half, Gemma Coggins and Trisha Richards struck for Athletic to turn the game on its head and bag all three points.
It was a tremendous show of spirit from Coggins in particular, with the Tring player battling through injury to score the vital equalising goal.
Following an even first half, Tring knew they were in for a battle after the interval as Coggins left the field for treatment which resulted in a tactical reshuffle.
Bushey took advantage and opened the scoring – leaving Tring with an uphill challenge if they were to take anything from the game.
Clearly buoyed by their goal, the visitors continued to dictate play, but Athletic threatened with decent efforts of their own.
And the momentum swung in the hosts’ favour when Coggins returned to the field to restore numerical parity.
Just moments later, Coggins put her injury worries to one side to sweep home and draw her side level.
That served to increase Bushey’s attacking intent, and Tring found themselves pinned back by a string of dangerous attacks.
But with only seconds remaining, Athletic completed the unlikely turnaround as Richards pounced on an Emily Maule delivery into the box to slot home and snatch the win.
