THERE was yet more success for the Tring youth section as U16s stormed to victory at the Aylesbury 10s Festival.
The squad deservedly won all of their games, including a resounding 30-5 victory over Lutonians in the title decider.
The side started at a superb pace against Olney in their first game to record a 25-10 win, with tries by Richard Stewart (2), Drew Bowness (2) and Will Wood.
Next up was a clash against Aylesbury, and although the game was a much closer affair, Tring made it two wins out of two as a brace of Wood tries and one from Nic Williams earned a 15-10 triumph.
Previous results suggested that Milton Keynes would be an easier win for Tring, but although they notched four tries courtesy of Henry Stubbs, Richard Stewart, Ed Ellson and Drew Bowness, the side were made to work hard for their victory.
The final game for Tring was against Lutonians – who boasted the next most successful record up to that point.
Clearly eager to knock Lutonians off their perch, Tring put in a superb all-round performance to run in six tries to bag the trophy.
Zak Michalski bagged a brilliant opening try, before completing his hat-trick with two more.
From then on there was only going to be one winner, and Stubbs, Stewart and Ellson ran in further tries to make sure of the victory.
