TOYS ain’t what they used to be... and a Tring team is celebrating a string of awards for the company’s products.
The United Kingdom HQ of multi-national toy brand Revell is in High Street, where three people are office based and other five form a home-based sales team.
This year the plastic model specialist has picked up some top awards for its Revell Outspeeder. The Outspeeder is a mini stunt car with built-in roll bar and a top speed of 20 kilometres per hour.
The Outspeeder, part of the company’s Control brand, has been voted the British Toy & Hobby Association’s Best New Toy in the hobby and models category for Toyfair 2012.
With new remote control frequencies to enable drivers to go head-to-head in races, it was also selected for the Top Ten Gadget Toys at Gadget Show Live at the NEC in Birmingham from April 11 to 15.
Thomas Randrup, Revell’s country manager UK & Ireland, said: “It’s great for Revell to receive such prestigious awards and be recognised for innovative products. Besides generating awareness amongst consumers, these accolades help raise our profile with trade customers.”
Revell has also seen sales successes with its plastic model Titanic kits. More than two million replicas of the famous ship have been sold to date and the company expects a boost from the 100th anniversary of the ship’s building and sinking.
