A FORMER computer contractor has set up a website to help the disabled after multiple sclerosis forced him to quit his job.
Patrick Burke, 57, of Cowper Road, Berkhamsted, was first diagnosed with MS in 1995.
He went on working, travelling the world to install computer systems. In 2003, he began using a stick. Now he can only walk about 400 yards and uses a mobility scooter.
He has launched www.aid4disabled.com to help others that he says he didn’t have after his diagnosis. Users can upload advice and tools useful to others who have their condition.
Patrick said: “I was told: ‘You have got MS. Right, next,’ so everything I discovered to help me was done by myself online.
“I am now trying to form a sort of handbook for the disabled.”
