A RAIL company aims to improve its service by putting more trains on the track in summer 2014.
London Midland has ordered 10 new trains to be delivered in two years time to boost its London commuter service by nearly 4,500 extra seats each weekday.
It aims to provide more services during peak times on the West Coast Main Line by increasing maximum speeds from 100mph to 110mph.
Managing director Patrick Verwer said: “Their acquisition demonstrates our commitment to continue improving capacity, performance and customer satisfaction.”
London Midland aims to decrease journey times between London and Northampton by up to 10 minutes, between Milton Keynes and London by up to seven minutes and between Crewe and London Euston by up to 25 minutes.
External relations manager Ray Miller said trains currently operating will be engineered to work at the news higher speed.
