THE 13-YEAR-OLD behind a spate of “mindless vandalism” that left a village green covered in dog muck has been reported to police by his mother.
The Gazette reported last week that his Potten End spree earlier this month left three of a pub’s parasol stands in the middle of an ice-laden pond.
Bus stop panels in nearby The Common were smashed, a barrier around a tree for Second World War dead was bent and a tree commemorating a dead villager was gouged out.
Potten End Parish Council chairman Simon Barnard, who disposed of dog muck that was scattered across the village green, said damage repairs could cost more than £500.
Days after the crimes, the mum of a village boy aged 13 rang its PCSO, Kim Ashworth, so he could confess to them.
