THE funeral of Robin Corbett will take place on Friday at St Mary’s Church in Hemel Hempstead old town.
All are welcome but mourners are being asked not to wear black for the ceremony.
The funeral takes place at 10am and the family have asked for donations to the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home instead of flowers.
Lord Corbett of Castle Vale, who was Labour MP for the town between 1974 and 1979 but continued to live in Piccotts End, died of cancer at the age of 78 on February 19.
After losing his seat in 1979 Lord Corbett returned to parliament in 1983, representing Birmingham Erdington. He held this seat until his retirement from the House of Commons in 2001, when he became a life peer.
A memorial service is planned to take place at Westminster at a later date.
