Proposals to replace a collapsed shop with three flats and a new store have been recommended for approval by planning bosses.
But the decision on whether plans for the former Birtchnells site in High Street, Berkhamsted, go ahead will be decided at a meeting of Dacorum Borough Council’s Development Control Committee on Thursday (February 9).
Officers say the plans will ‘reinvigorate’ the site and ‘enhance’ the character and appearance of this part of Berkhamsted Conservation Area.
Berkhamsted Town Council has objected to the plans on the grounds of poor parking provision and inappropriate design.
And three residents from Elm Grove have also objected.
